We are led by our mission statement, “To Share Christ and Serve Others.” We encourage all members to discover their passion for ministry and reaching out in our community.
Our On-going ministries of Belmont Baptist:
Our latest ministry is Loads of Love. This ministry consists of a new laundry facility located on the Chruch grounds. The focus of this ministry is an outward reach missional ministry dedicated to serving folks in our community. There are five industrual type washers and dryers availabe for use. The use of the facility will be free, but goverened by Love, Inc. and Church policy. Please visit our Ministries link for additional information.
Our Women’s Missionary Union is very active in promoting mission work along with personally involving individual lives in giving to others.
Our Food Closet is stocked by the congregation with non-perishable food items. Our goal is to provide a bag of food that will last two days for a family in need.
We partner with People And Congregations Engaged in Ministry, PACEM, to provide housing for the homeless in our area during the winter months.
Members of our congregation have gleaned apples from several sites in Nelson County working with the Society of Saint Andrews. These apples are shared with the local Food Bank and given to local families in need. We have also served through the Volunteer Farm of Shenandoah, a ministry that raises vegetables for area Food Banks and local soup kitchens in central Virginia.
We offer a shopping ministry to members and friends of our church who are visually impaired. We assist with shopping at grocery stores as well as other variety stores.
Several ladies in the church use their gifts for decorating at the Ronald McDonald House affiliated with the UVA Medical Center and we also provide and prepare meals for the guests of the house several times a year along with collecting items that are requested.
Our church provides the facility to the Central Virginia Baptist Association to offer the Clothing Center.
Several times a year we visit with the residents of Winterhaven, an assisted living facility located on Pantops Mountain. Once a month our pastor leads a worship service at Morningside Assisted Living and we are starting another service at Park View at Pantops.
Some of our members assist with the after-school program by helping with homework, sharing a special talent or just being a friend.
